Order Details:

In the modern world, road traffic accidents have become a major source of health concerns and death worldwide (WHO, 2009). The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that in 2013 alone, there were about 1.24 million deaths and about 20 to 50 million injuries around the world. Road accidents are said to be the 9 th cause of disabilities and the number is expected to rise greatly by 2020 if nothing is done about it (Almalki, 2011).The increase in car accidents is associated with the increase in the number of cars on the roads which has been contributed by the improvement of socioeconomic statuses.

Saudi Arabia is one of the countries that have enjoyed rapid economic growth in the recent years. This rapid economic growth is due to oil production which has improved the economic status of Saudi Arabia and thus increasing the motorization rate (Takala, 1999). According to the general traffic directorate, the numbers of cars that have been were registered increased from 1, 4676,800 to 5,861,614 between 1998 and 2008. The drastic increase in number of motor vehicles led to a drastic increase in the number of roads around the country. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia is today facing a major challenge of the increased number of road accidents which are majorly caused by the remarkable growth in the number of motor vehicles and the number of roads around the

country.
